The International Legal English Certificate
ILEC is a Cambridge ESOL examination, which is a high-level legal-oriented language qualification for lawyers and law students. Entrance to this course is set at levels B2 to C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The exam is based on the realistic daily tasks that legal practitioners deal with. I train students to use Legal English in practical situations, such as meetings, negotiations, legal discussions. I train them to express opinions clearly and to produce legal correspondence and memoranda.
Training and practice of the four basic legal communication skills, Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking, these are examined separately. The ILEC is internationally recognised by leading associations of lawyers including the European Company Lawyers Association, the European Law Students Association, the International Association of Young Lawyers, and the European Young Bar Association. The exam is also recognized by leading academic institutions such as the College of Europe.

Offering SHORT INTENSIVE preparation classes for the Cambridge International Legal English Certificate (ILEC) exam. They give little time to substantive issues (law), which are presented in our Exploratory course (ie. Legal English Exploratory course, LE001). My classes focus on exam technique and practice. The pre-exam are best run in a small groups or even on a one-to-one basis, and take place directly before the relevant exams. They attempt to build skill, speed, accuracy and exam methodology. Their atmosphere is very different from our exploratory courses, in that, they are run on a strict timetable, which will be agreed with the participants, before the course begins.
