Cambridge International Legal English Certificate eMail queries to - anthony@teachlegalenglish.com (Skype: anthony5ard) The ILEC is a Cambridge ESOL examination, which is a high-level legal-language oriented qualification for lawyers and law students. Entrance to this course is set at levels B2 to C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The exam is based on the realistic daily tasks that legal practitioners deal with. The course trains students to use Legal English in practical situations, such as meetings, negotiations, legal discussions. It trains them to express opinions clearly and to produce legal correspondence and memoranda. Training in and practice of the four basic legal communication skills, Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking, these are examined separately. The ILEC is internationally recognised by leading associations of lawyers including the European Company Lawyers Association, the European Law Students Association, the International Association of Young Lawyers, and the European Young Bar Association. The exam is also recognized by leading academic institutions such as the College of Europe. |

Availability English Teaching for Law and Business in Dublin Cambridge International Legal English Certificate Exam Preparation Study, Understand, Get a Job in, and Practice Law - Internationally For Lawyers and Administrators Everywhere Offering SHORT INTENSIVE preparation for the Cambridge International Legal English Certificate (ILEC) exam in Dublin. They give little time to substantive issues (law), which are presented in longer term exploratory work. This short course focuses on exam techniques and practice. This pre-exam training is run in small groups or even on a one-to-one basis, in companies and schools. It takes place directly before the relevant exams, attempting to build skill, speed, accuracy and exam methodology. Their atmosphere is very different from my exploratory teaching, in that, they are run on a strict timetable, which will be agreed with the participants, before the training begins. Availability |
