Secured TransactionsAt teachlegalenglish we look at the language of Law relating to giving credit to borrowers and the security instruments in use. In the United States, Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) governs secured transactions where security interests are taken in personal property. We will examine the purpose, form and registration of secured transactions, the secured collateral interests involved, the security agreement or debenture and its place in contract. We will examine the use of fixed and floating charges, mortgages, bonds, guarantees, letters of comfort, negative pledges and book debts. |
